- Limestone Veoprene:Most Xcel wetsuit tops use a limestone based neoprene, as opposed to petroleum based poly-chloroprene. 100% Stretch factor with a smaller cell structure to increase warmth, stretch and limit water absorption compared to the butadiene method.
- Smooth Skin or Lycra Jersey: the outside layer of an Xcel wetsuit top is typically lycra/nylon, which is the standard to most wetsuits products as it's durable and stretchy. The Smooth-Skin alternative is a shiny, rubbery feeling coat that repels water, this makes it ideal for reducing wind-chill and it's wind-chill that most people buy a wetsuit top for.
- Flatlock Seams: Most wetsuit tops come with a flatlock seam as it's the most durable choice. Some wetsuit tops will come with a GBS seam but unlike a full-wetsuit, the use of GBS in a top is not to keep water out but it's used because GBS is far stretchier than Flatlock. Learn more here.
