Dry Bags
Dry bags and dry packs play a two vital rolls in the life of a water warrior and their wet suits. They keep things dry, hence the name dry bag but they're equally effective as keeping moisture out as they are in! Wetsuits hold a lot of water after a session and are notorious for converting your car into a dank cave that stinks like a swamp. Avoid this by putting your sweatsuit INSIDE a dry bag after every use!
Dry Bag Sealing
Most dry bags are sealed using the Roll-and-Clip method as it's simple and effective. The jury is out on whether leaving a lot of air in the dry bag makes a better seal - some say more air creates pressure, resulting in better contact within the roll. Others say that taking all the air out lets you create more rolls, therefore more seal. All we know for sure is a floating dry-bag is less likely to ever take on water than one that's had all the air taken out, and subsequently sinks to the bottom of the ocean........
NOT ALL DRY BAGS ARE DRY!
Sounds crazy!! And yeh, we think it IS crazy... But, unfortunately in today's world a name doesn't seem to need to describe a product... El Cheapo drybags these days employ a fibre similar to Dacron Fibre (wind-surfing sail, not the transparent bit) and is highly water and tear resistant, but is not water-proof. Bags that reflect light are typically made from thermoplastic-polyurethane which is truly water-proof.
