Neoprene is one of the great insulators and will keep your lowers toasty while offering extra protection and padding. Wetsuit pants or shorts are also ideal for surfing when you want a bit more warmth without going full steamer, or just prefer the extra comfort between you and your board. Some surfers also like to pair neoprene bottoms with a wetsuit top during the cooler months for more adaptable layering as the conditions shift.
