Mens Freediving Wetsuits
Mens Freediving Wetsuits are designed to provide Apnea divers (breath-hold) with flexible, but compression-resistant neoprene that won't place undue pressure on your chest which in-turn adds strain to your breathe-up and also makes it harder to hold streamline. There's a trend towards 'smooth-skin' coated apnea wetsuits, which you can identify because they have a sheen finish, as opposed to the matte finish of nylon lined apnea wetties. Smooth-skin has less drag in the water but greatly reduces wind-chill because the coated material repels waters.
Typically a Freediving wetsuit will come in 2 parts, the pants and the top. Pants will come with either a very high waist or a long-john style. Almost all of these suits come with a hood for warmth but also comfort and functionality, especially if your hair is long enough to reach your mask strap clips and or snorkel. You may note some of these products have a pad on the chest, this is to facilitate spearfishing, making the suit dual-purpose.
Are swimming wetsuits good for Freediving/Apnea?
Short answer: yes. Long answer: the world of swimming is immense, compared with freediving it's like David and Goliath. We've made the choice to include swimming wetsuits (more often than not these are marketed in our Freediving range because they're some of the most advanced wetsuits in the market and are designed to promote streamline, something that both swimmers and freediveers rely on.
