Mens Wetsuit Vests, made from Neoprene, will keep your upper body warm when the water or wind is cold and they are ideal to use for swim, dive and surf. We recommend wetsuit vests as stand-alone garment or as a layering item for when your wetty isn't warm enough. If you've worn a wetsuit then you've felt this material and essentially it's exactly the same thing but doesn't cover your lower half. The material itself is a 3 layer sandwich with outer layers that can be modified to specialise the wetsuit top for a given activity.
Most Mens Wetsuit Vests use a spandex/nylon external lining because of its great durability and stretch but can 'hold' water which makes them less effective against wind chill when compared with a smooth-skin lined jersey. Smooth-skin is essentially a rubberised coat that causes water to run off instead of absorbing. Why does all of this matter for a mens wetsuit vest? It all comes down to wind-chill because wind-chill is up to 25x more effective at wicking heat if the membrane is damp, therefore smooth-skin gives you the best wetty vest to defend against the wind.
To get the most out of your Mens Wetsuit Vest we recommend washing it with Wetsuit Wash.
