    To get the most out of each training session and give yourself the best chance in an event, making sure you stay comfortably warm is crucial. Keeping warm means conserving energy, so it's always a good idea to cover up your hands and feet where you lose most of your heat. This also means once you're out of the water and onto your bike, your hands won't be numb and stinging! 

    But it's not just about keeping warm - it's about looking after yourself as well. Especially in open water environments where you don't have that pool edge to hang on to there's an element of risk that triathlon wetsuit gloves (and neoprene swimwear in general) help to mitigate. Getting cold means you're more prone to worse cramps, plus you're just not going to enjoy yourself nearly as much. For this reason, we'd also recommend using a swim float when you're doing any ocean swim training.
