You can have the best kit in the world but if you're cold you're going to be having a bad time, shivering all the fishies away and biting off your regulator mouthpiece... Many of us have, unfortunately, been subject to rental suits from dive schools that don't accommodate for those that feel the cold. This can permanently tarnish your perspective on wetsuits and turn you away from cold-water diving and you don't want that because cold-water is generally better visibility, at least in Australia that's the case.

When making decisions on a men's scuba wetsuit you must first consider the thickness and this is very much personal preference. As a rough guide, we sell mostly 3-5mm scuba suits to QLDers, 5-7mm suits for Syndey Folk and 7-9mm in Melbourne. The other key elements are the type of seam and the zip system. We've gone to great lengths in stitching/seams in this seams blog post. As for zips, most commonly you'll find a back or front zip and it's personal preference but we consider front-zips to be the superior design, which, if you're intrigued about zip design, you can learn a bunch here however it's slightly surf-centric.
