Surfing Leashes
Losing hold of your board in the surf is inevitable, so having a leash (and a spare) is a must-have before you jump in the drink.
The length and thickness of your leggie all depend on the type of board you're using and in what surf. Generally, you want your leggie to be around the same length as your board to reduce the chance of it flicking back and hitting you when you've come off.
You can opt for a thinner leash (often referred to as "comp" leashes) which are thought to be a little lighter and create less drag. But if you're on a heavier board or surfing heavier conditions, using a regular leash is the way to go.
