Xcel Axis Wetsuits
Xcel are known for pushing the outer-limits of wetsuit development but not all of us are surfing antarctic waters, most of us only need a basic sealed suit and that's what makes the Xcel Axis Wetsuit range the best value surfing steamers. When I speak of sealing I'm talking specifically about the seam/stitch.
When a wetsuit is made they sew the panels together using either a flat-lock or a blind-stitch, one leaks and one doesn't. The important of a sealed seam can be summed up with this analogy: a wetsuit with a non-sealed seam is like having the heater on with the windows open - to get a better understanding on this check out our seams and stitching blog.
Xcel Axis Wetsuits include many premiere features, listed below, including their supremely stretchy Japanese Limestone Nanoprene and a Glued and Blind-stitched seam. Available in 2mm, 3/2mm and 4/3mm. The only difference within the range lies within the choice of chest zip or back zip.

Xcel Axis Wetsuit Features:-
- Waterproof Entry System: Whether you decide for a chest zip or back zip wetsuit within the Axis range you'll enjoy an entry system with a gasket. This gasket, in the form of an additional layer of neoprene, stops water that moves through the zip from entering the suit itself. Learn more about entry systems here.
- Plush Thermo Lining:This fast drying, lightweight, and naturally hydrophobic lining works to keep your vitals warmer by wicking cold water away from your core.
- JAPANESE Limestone Neoprene: LIGHTER, SOFTER, WARMER - reduces our dependency on oil.
- Glued & Blindstitched Seams: A fully sealed, maximum stretch seam construction. Neoprene panels are glued and pressed together, then blindstitched (needle doesn't fully penetrate neoprene, keeping more water out). Learn more about seams.
- Chest or Back Zip Options: Take your pick! Unsure? Get the run-down on zips.
- Smooth-Skin Coated Torso: The use of a 'coated' lining around the torso acts the same way as the plush thermal linings do, however on the outside of the suit. If water can 'stick' to the exterior lining it means your suit is subject to wind-chill but because the coated lining is hydrophobic, it means no water can stick.
