Weight Belts & Lead
When you wear a wetsuit in the water, it increased your buoyancy, which causes you to float. This is great for snorkelling, but if you want to dive down below the surface, it will be very difficult. Weight belts are used to secure lead dive weights around your waist, making it easier to dive down and not float straight back to the surface again.
Weight belts are made of nylon webbing or rubber. The most commonly seen weight belt is a webbing weight belt, however rubber weight belts are higher quality and more practical for diving sports as they won't slide around.
