Wetsuit Hangers
Hanging your wetsuit on a hanger is part of the daily routine in the life of those that won't to make their wetsuits last as long as they are intended to. The issue with hanging your wetsuit arises out of the weight that a wet wetty holds in moisture. This can sometimes quadruple (even more depending on age, and the suit itself) the weight of the suit which means 4x the weight of the suit is applied to the shoulders of your wetsuit.
If you hang your wetsuit on a thin or wire hanger the weight of the suit itself will begin to deform and damage the rubber that sits on your shoulders. This deformation causes the closed-cells within the neoprene to fracture which means your wetsuit is more like a sponge.
If you're interested in making your wetsuit last as long as possible (the greenest thing to do) then we recommend checking out our blog on prolonging the life of your wetsuit.
